Undergraduate Students
The Animal Sciences Bachelor's degree encompasses science, production, marketing, research and utilization of animals in agriculture, entertainment and companionship. The diverse curriculum allows students to focus on specific areas suited to their individual interests such as:
- Animal Industry-Prepares students for careers related to livestock agri-business, production and management by giving students a strong animal sciences curriculum and a business component that includes Agri-Economics, Marketing, Statistics and Business to prepare for them for all phases of the livestock industry.
- Equine Science-Educates students in the biology, physiology and management of horses. The Equine option allows student to focus either on a business pathway that prepares them for management, promotion and equine enterprises, or a science pathway that prepares them for veterinary school, graduate school or science intensive careers in reproduction, nutrition or genetics.
- Science & Pre-Professional-Prepares students to further their education in the pursuit of a Master's, Doctorate or Veterinary degree. Also gives students options for careers in science and research-related fields.
- Race Track Industry-Prepares students for careers in the racing industry. The Racing program also allows students to focus either on the Business side of Racing with management, finance and business courses or on the Animal side of Racing with courses covering nutrition, reproduction and management of racing animals.
